How What You Eat Can Impact Your Body

Over the past years with the rise of companies like Uber Eats and Good Food a lot of people have realized the importance of choosing what they eat more carefully. Many people gained wait because of their sedentary lifestyles and the impossibility of going out to eat safely or even to shop for groceries without risking contact with people. While the pandemic is not exactly over, we finally have some ways to go out safely again and get back in control of our diets so it is a could time to look into what we eat more. A lot of people wonder what the point is but what you eat can define a lot of things relating to your health. So, let’s see some of the ways what you eat can impact your body, negatively or positively!

You can’t avoid talking about the importance of calorie intake when discussing the impact of your diet on your body. According to many studies and years of dietary science, human beings need at the very least 1200 calories every day to stay healthy. This is the strict minimum as the recommended intake is 2000 calories for women and 2500 for men. You should tailor your calorie intake to the number of calories you burn every day and week, so you always ingest fewer calories than you intake or equally as much. The idea is to take in enough calories to fuel your lifestyle without going overboard and risking gaining weight. Since obviously gaining weight affects your body, reduces the amount of energy you have, and eventually can cause things such as joint pain and heart issues, you want to avoid this at all costs. Talking with your doctor about a proper diet to help your metabolism can be a good idea as well.

If you are one of the many people trying to fight the damage of aging, you will want to look into consuming a lot of food that increases your collagen. Collagen is produced by the body naturally but as you age it eventually lowers production hence you can see your skin begin to sag and wrinkles appear. Collagen is the chemical that keeps your skin’s elasticity young and makes your flesh feel firmer than if you let it go. While you can invest in collagen supplements, you can increase your collagen consumption by eating food that holds a lot of it. So you might want to put more chicken or fish in your diet. Of course, you can also eat more citrus fruits and eggs as well to help cope with the lack of collagen produced by your body.

Speaking of eating fish another good vitamin you can get by eating is omega-3! By consuming more fish and or omega-3 supplements you can help your body work double time in preventing certain issues. For example, fatty acids containing omega-3 can help work against the possible risk of strokes and illness that could affect your heart. Omega-3 is also a huge factor in preventing arthritis and eczema as well. While the science is still unclear on this it is believed that omega-3 could help protect against more serious conditions as well. You can always verify with your doctor to see if you are getting enough omega-3 or if you should adjust your dietary consumption to benefit your health with some added omega-3. Meeting with a dietician might be a good idea as well if you are aiming for a perfect balance when it comes to adjusting your diet.

Not all effects are positive though. According to some sources for example chocolate has multiple negative impacts on the quality of your skin. On top of being a supplement of sugar in your body and not being exactly healthy, chocolate consumption has been linked to the appearance of blackheads on the face and arms. Some studies have concluded that chocolate may cause inflammation in the skin which may be the source of certain acne outbreaks. While this is also true for other fatty and sugary food it seems that some researchers say that chocolate is a big factor. Chocolate would then increase not only the intensity of acne outbreaks but their frequency as well if you consume a lot of chocolate regularly. So even if it’s a delicious treat you might want to moderate your chocolate binges.

As you can see everything you eat has an impact on your body and your health. So if you want to keep looking healthy you might need to do more than get a nice haircut and spend hours at the best nail salon near you. This means getting to know your body enough to know what you need to consume and eat the most to regulate your vitamin balance in your body. Of course, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat what you want, it simply means you should at least get to know what you eat.
